Super Heroes on Wheels

Here’s the trailer for Kick Ass, the movie that led me to my first experience in the Cinemobile. Thanks to @Universal_Irl and @rickoshea for the night.

I had a lot of fears getting on that Cinemobile. I didn’t know if it was going to be on the move- where would we end up? What if we were stranded? Was there a toilet? What if youths arrived and began to shake and push the sides?

None of my fears came to pass. There was no movement or youths involved. There was great costumes and a fun movie involved though.

There were a lot of familiar faces in the cast: Chloe Moretz, the funny little sister in (500) Days of Summer, Christopher Mintz-Plasse- Mc Lovin himself, Clark Duke from Greek and Clark and Michael, Lyndsy Fonseca who I recognized as the daughter in How I met your Mother (It was nice to see her have some dialogue) and Nicholas Cage who I’m not usually too mad about but I loved him in this.

The movie doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s entertaining and funny so I’d recommend a watch for that feel-good ass kicking factor. It will be one for my DVD collection anyway and I had a great time watching it.

I really enjoyed watching this movie, it’s so entertaining but I personally wouldn’t watch it again, there was just something missing for me, can’t quite put my finger on it. But I’d definitely recommended it to anyone that liked super hero and comic book movies.

As for the cinemobile. The lack of toilet facilities was a total fail in my book.

Do you think you would have enjoyed it more if you read the comic first?

I was trying to decide between this, and Clash of the Titans to watch in the cinema last Thursday… an online review of Kick Ass described it as being “Like a Tarantino flick but without the smugness”. They were bang on! Got to be Cage’s best flick yet.

I think you made the right decision- I’ve heard terrible things about Clash of the Titans!
