Released this weekend, Watchmen is an extremely anticipated comic book adaptation directed by Zach Snyder. I was blown away with the style of the movie, how well it transferred onto the big screen and I must admit I enjoyed it even more than Iron man.
Obviously if you enjoyed the comic book, you should go see it. You won’t be disappointed. Equally though, if you’ve never even heard of the comic book that might be all the more reason to see it. The storyline is new and fresh to you as are the characters.

I’m not one for delving into plotlines. I feel that they are there to be discovered. As necessary as trailers are, I think they give away the best parts of the movie. Some surprises are better left unwrapped until the main event. I don’t want to be a trailer here. I want to be a push. See this epic movie on a big screen. Don’t wait for the DVD; make the most of the mesmerising effects at their best in the cinema.
Without spoiling the story I’ll tell you what I liked about this movie. For one, the soundtrack was fantastic. Every song that blasted out was a classic. I particularly liked ’99 red balloons’ and if you’re a 30 Rock fan you’ll know why. I don’t think I can even listen to that song with a straight face again thanks to Tina Fey.
Watchmen does not compromise its integrity by making itself PG. I felt this one thing added to the movie more than anything else. All the sex, gore and violence are there without apology. You don’t have to cringe through cheesy superhero moments that you know are just there for the kiddies benefit as most blockbusters seem to be doing these days.
The plot itself is action-packed, engaging and it certainly does justice to all those fans of the comic book out there. The characters are witty, flawed and entertaining. The dialogue is original and the costumes are done extremely well. Even though the duration of the film is quite long at 2 and ¾ hours, it feels like no time at all. You’ll be dying for more.

This is definitely an adult “comic book” movie, and I couldn’t agree more with you about being delighted that it’s 16’s, practically 18’s.
I’m on story number 5 so far… I kinda wanna have it all read by the time I see it but that wont happen. x
@Sinéad You love a bit of adult content you do.
@GayT Of course you’ll finish it on time!
